MARTHA GRAHAM DANCE COMPANY TO PLAY PARIS At The Historic Théâtre du Châtelet.
The Martha Graham Dance Company, the oldest and most celebrated contemporary dance company in America, will play a special Paris engagement at the historic Théâtre du Châtelet April 14 – 18, 2009. They will be performing three separate programs of Graham classics some making their Paris premiere at the 2,500 seat theatre a month before their New York City engagement.

The legendary Paris Opera Ballet, one of the greatest dance companies in the world, makes its Brisbane debut in June with its magnificent production of Rudolf Nureyev's La Bayadère.
The Company comprising of 100 dancers, together with The Queensland Orchestra, will perform at Queensland Performing Arts Centre's Lyric Theatre. Before commencing their exclusive Brisbane season, the étoiles and premier danseurs of the company will participate in a glittering one-off Grand Gala Performance.

La entrega de los premios “Benois de la Danse” no se celebrará este año en Moscú, debido a que el Ministerio de Cultura de Rusia no tiene dinero para la celebración de esta tradicional ceremonia, anunció Reguina Nikíforova, directora general del programa de estos galardones.
La responsable de estos premios, conocidos también como los “Oscar de la danza”, señaló que el Ministerio ha visto recortado su presupuesto a la mitad, por lo que no puede destinar fondos a este acto cultural.

Coreografos de ideas avanzadas y atrevidos conceptos como Hans van Manen, Glen Tetley y Anders Hellström, han logrado concebir a lo largo de los años una agrupación en donde siempre se ha demostrado un alto grado de rigor en la técnica y, sobre todo, una excelencia en la ejecución de cada una de sus elaboradas obras.
Paul Lightfoot y Sol León, coreógrafos permanentes del Nederlands Dans Theater, cuentan con la provechosa experiencia de formar parte del grupo desde hace aproximadamente 22 años.
Cory Stearns, a Soloist with American Ballet Theatre, was named best male dancer at the Eighth International Competition for the Erik Bruhn Prize, held in Toronto on Wednesday, March 18.
Stearns and corps de ballet member Isabella Boylston danced the Black Swan pas de deux from Act III of Swan Lake and End., a new work choreographed by ABT Principal Dancer Marcelo Gomes. Gomes also competed for the Choreographic Prize, new to the competition this year.
