Una nueva generación de bailarines andaluces se está haciendo un hueco en la escena andaluza desafiando a un futuro protagonizado por los recortes en cultura y amenazando con quedarse. El MES DE DANZA, a lo largo de todos sus años de existencia, siempre ha impulsado y acompañado la creación andaluza sirviendo no sólo de plataforma de exhibición, sino de motor de nuevos proyectos.

Baryshnikov and Minnelli… Together Again

Mikhail Baryshnikov and Liza Minnelli will be together again on September 5 when the Oscar-winning actress presents the dance icon with an Ambassador for the Arts Award at the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation’s “Bright Lights Shining Stars” Gala.

The evening benefits many dance programs including scholarships for deserving young artists and will feature performances from some of the best companies in the city.

The National Gallery of Australia today opened Sydney Long The Spirit of the Land, the first major gallery retrospective of this important Australian artist. Sydney Long is Australia’s foremost Art Nouveau artist and created a highly distinctive style which often depicted the Australian landscape as haunting and mysterious, and sometimes populated with mythical nature sprites. The exhibition is on display in Canberra only.

Paul Szilard was born in Budapest, Hungary and became a United States citizen in the 1950’s. A former leading dancer, Mr. Szilard has performed throughout the world with such leading dancers as Nora Kaye, Colette Marchand, Sonia Arova and others. His acclaimed autobiography, Under My Wings: My Life as an Impresario, was published in 2002.
