El Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid llega a su 22ª edición, del 4 al 7 de diciembre, por segundo año consecutivo, en el Teatro Fernán Gómez, antiguo Centro Cultural de la Villa de Madrid.
Fundado en 1987 por Laura Kumin y Margaret Jova (PASO A 2), el Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid fue uno de los primeros en nuestro país en apostar por la creación coreográfica, a la que se viene dedicando y comprometiendo desde entonces.

Miami City Ballet Makes Its Manhattan Debut
Miami City Ballet, under the Artistic Direction of Edward Villella, will make its Manhattan debut, January 21 – 25, 2009, at New York City Center, presenting two programs over six performances, featuring classics by George Balanchine and Twyla Tharp.
This engagement is a homecoming of sorts for Edward Villella; in bringing his world renowned company to City Center, he is returning to the stage where he began his own professional career in 1957, when he joined City Ballet, then based at City Center under the artistic direction of George Balanchine.
The Spring 2009 Season at Sadler’s Wells
For the first time, the Spring 2009 Season sees Sadler's Wells performances in over 11 different venues and spaces across London, including new ventures with Tate Modern, the Young Vic and the Roundhouse as well as the return of Spring Dance at the Coliseum which opens with two full-length productions by the great American Ballet Theatre.
La bayadère – TEATRO ALLA SCALA
Desde el 17 de diciembre, la nueva temporada de ballet del Teatro Alla Scala, presentará "La bayadère" con Svetlana Zakharova, Roberto Bolle, Marianela Nuñez, Polina Semionova y Denis Matvienko en los roles principales, junto al Ballet de Alla Scala.

Mark Morris coreografía un Romeo y Julieta con final feliz
Romeo no se suicida – se lo impide a tiempo el fraile Lorenzo-, Julieta se despierta de su profundo sueño, y en una última escena, los dos amantes de Verona danzan un lírico "pas de deux" en un particular elíseo tachonado de estrellas.
La idea de ese "happy end" no es, sin embargo, del coreógrafo estadounidense, sino del compositor ruso Sergué Prokofiev y el dramaturgo Adrian Piotrovsky.
