Maris Rudolfs Liepa (27 July 1936, Riga – 26 March 1989, Moscow) was a Soviet Latvian ballet dancer. He graduated from Riga Choreography School where he was taught by Valentоns Bпinovs. He performed in Moscow for the first time in 1950. At the height of career, Liepa was considered one of the finest male dancers in the world and one of the most versatile, at home in a wide range of roles.
Tour to Moscow: John Neumeier brings his new version of “Peer Gynt” to the Historical Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre
From the 20th of January, the Hamburg Ballet will present five performances of “Peer Gynt”, one of John Neumeier’s newest creations, on the legendary stage of the Bolshoi Theatre. All five performances are already sold out. Following the successful premiere in Hamburg in June 2015, the new version of this ballet will be introduced to an international audience for the first time.

La Ópera-cómica Marco Spada con libreto de Scribe y música de Daniel-François-Sprit Auber estrenada en diciembre de 1852 se adaptó y transformó en un ballet largo. La coreografía corrió a cargo de Joseph Mazilier.
