BALLET HISPANICO ANNOUNCES NEW EDUCATION LEADERSHIP

Ballet Hispanico Artistic Director Eduardo Vilaro announced recently that Mercedes Pablos has been appointed Director of Ballet Hispanico School of Dance and Rachel Watts has been appointed Director of Education and Outreach. 

Effective late July, and early August 2009 respectively, they will be exciting new additions to the Ballet Hispanico family.

58th annual Capezio Dance Award

The Capezio Ballet Makers Dance Foundation is pleased to announce the selection of Arlene Shuler, President and CEO of New York City Center,  as the recipient of the 58th annual Capezio Dance Award.

The Foundation is a philanthropic organization funded by the world’s premier dance footwear and apparel manufacturer, Capezio Ballet Makers. The Foundation will present the 2009 Capezio Dance Award and the accompanying $10,000 honorarium to Arlene Shuler at the opening performance of this year’s Fall for Dance Festival, on September 22, 2009 at New York City Center.

Barenboim anuncia en Madrid que el Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires reabrirá agosto 2010.

El director argentino-israelí Daniel Barenboim aseguró hoy en Madrid que el Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires, en proceso de restauración desde 2001 y cuya reapertura se aplazó varias veces, alzará de nuevo el telón en agosto de 2010 y que él actuará allí el día 19 de ese mes.
