SOKOLOW DANCE THEATRE ENSEMBLE
The Company continues its celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Anna Sokolow (1910-2000) with a performance of four Sokolow works: "Frida," "September Sonnet," "A Short Lecture and Demonstration on the Evolution of Ragtime," and the newly rediscovered "Murals," created in Mexico in 1980 to a dynamic drum score by Chavez and never before seen in full in the U.S. Company director and longtime Sokolow disciple Jim May met a Mexican dance teacher who, fortuitously, had been in the dance and had a pirated video.

Tres retoños de importantes conjuntos estadounidenses del área neoyorquina, ABT II, Ailey II y Taylor 2, han unido fuerzas y se presentan juntos en un Festival de ballet y danza contemporánea que dura ocho días. Los tres grupos trabajan en días alternos; no obstante, la noche que abriría la temporada, todas ocuparon el mismo escenario, si bien cada uno por separado, presentando piezas de su repertorio, entre las que apareció un estreno mundial.

From June 13 to 27 the ballet festival “Hamburger Ballett-Tage” will take place for the 36th time. Apart from the summer premiere The Floating World and the HAMBURG BALLET’s season highlights, the Tokyo Ballet will give a guest performance.

Avatar* es un solo de danza, en el cual la intérprete está en constante diálogo con el software, responsable de los diferentes eventos narrativos pre-programados; ellos reaccionan en base a los desplazamientos, actitudes y gestos, por medio de la proyección y detección de la cámara, que envía las señales de posición al ordenador, encargado de procesar los datos y re-enviarlos al espacio escénico en tiempo real.
