Diaghilev A Life by Sjeng Scheijen. Museum of Fine Arts
We would like to share with you an important update regarding the talk and screening on Friday September 17th by Sjeng Scheijen co-presented by the BRCP and the Boston MFA. In the September 20th issue of the New Yorker, out on newsstands now, there is an extensive and very positive review by Joan Acoccella, of Scheijen’s book, Diaghilev: A Life. You can read an abstract from the review here.
We hope that this new review, together with Alastair Macaulay’s praise for Diaghilev: A Life (read it here) and the excerpt from Scheijen’s book (read it here) will intrigue you to attend Friday’s event, or at least to read the book itself.

Auditioned South African candidates who are selected to compete in the Cecchetti International-Classical Ballet Competition, Manchester, UK in 2011 are required to submit written notification, no later than 21st February 2011, of their acceptance to attend the above.

International Dance Symposium for Hong Kong Dance Festival 2010
Co-presented by Hong Kong Dance Alliance and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), commissioned by Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) and the support of World Dance Alliance, the International Dance Symposium will be held at HKAPA from 25 to 28 ovember, 2010.
This year’s theme is Connecting Conversations: Choreography ow! in Chinese Communities, which aims to draw the world focus on Chinese artists working in the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, and in other Asian countries as well as artists of the Chinese diasporas working around the world.

El autor del espectáculo que los críticos predicen como una sensación es el coreógrafo moderno francés Angelin Preljoçaj. En el escenario principal del país, los espectadores se econtrarán con una coreografía moderna, historias bíblicas y los tonos del “padre de la música electrónica moderna”.
