Event to feature Paul Taylor Dance Company, Dance Theatre of Harlem Ensemble, Complexions Contemporary Ballet and more.

Ten emerging and world-renowned dancers, dance companies and choreographers will join two-time Tony Award-winner and celebrated dancer Bebe Neuwirth at Fire Island Dance Festival 17, the most anticipated cultural event of the season at Fire Island Pines. Scheduled for July 16-17, this outdoor celebration of dance is produced by and benefits Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Naomi Goldberg Haas' DANCES FOR A VARIABLE POPULATION.

The unique group, with dancers up to age 81, will perform Naomi Goldberg Haas' new "Washington Square Dances" to help celebrate the renovation of the famous Washington Square Park. The dance is inspired by Terry Riley's 1964 composition "In C," remixed by contemporary composers.

In Honor of Reinhart’s Final Season, ADF Announces $43,000 Challenge

Durham, NC, June 16th, 2011 – The American Dance Festival (ADF) is pleased to announce a $43,000 Matching Gift Challenge that will benefit the newly established Charles L. and Stephanie Reinhart fund which supports commissions of new work, scholarships for aspiring dancers attending the ADF School, and other special projects that reflect the vision of Charles and his late wife and former ADF Co-Director, Stephanie Reinhart.

No es difícil engañar a los tontos.

Después de una larga ausencia del repertorio del American Ballet Theatre (ABT), “Coppelia”, ballet en tres actos, original de Arthur Saint-Leon, sobre las agradables melodías de Leo Delibes — que data de 1870 –, fue desempolvado y traído a las tablas del Met, para celebrar los 20 años de Paloma Herrera en el elenco de la compañía. El rol de Swanilda correspondería a la conocida bailarina argentina, quien llevaría de compañero a Ángel Corella, asumiendo el rol de Franz.

GUEST ARTIST GUILLAUME CÔTÉ TO REPLACE CORY STEARNS IN CINDERELLA, WEDNESDAY MATINEE, JUNE 22, 2011 AT METROPOLITAN OPERA HOUSE.

Guillaume Côté, guest artist-in-residence with The National Ballet of Canada, will dance the role of Her Prince Charming in James Kudelka’s Cinderella at the matinee on Wednesday, June 22 at the Metropolitan Opera House. It was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. Côté is replacing Cory Stearns who is injured.

Kevin O'Hare Kevin O'Hare trained at The Royal Ballet.

Retired dancer Kevin O'Hare has been appointed the director of The Royal Ballet, it has been announced. O'Hare, who who trained at the prestigious school, said: "I want to continue to invigorate audiences with new work and emerging talents."

Kevin O’Hare is to become Director of the Royal Ballet when current incumbent Monica Mason retires in July 2012.

Lord Byron, un verano sin verano es una nueva ópera del compositor catalán Agustí Charles y el dramaturgo Marc Rosich. Estreno en España tras su reciente estreno absoluto en el Staatstheater de Darmstadt –impulsor de este proyecto operístico–, su acción se sitúa en 1816.

La creación artística no es privativa de ninguna manifestación artística, ni de ningún estilo en particular.

Es un don que reciben algunas personas, por el cual manifiestan una determinada capacidad para “crear”, ya sea una obra musical, una obra visual, o una coreografía. También es la capacidad de un intérprete para “recrear” (particularmente en las artes escénicas y musicales) obras artísticas de repertorio, o nuevas, otorgándoles su propia peculiaridad y personalidad.

El Real Ballet Danés en el Lincoln Center de Nueva York

Dos mundos diferentes comparten un mismo programa.

Después de un hiato de 10 años, el Real Ballet Danés ha regresado al Lincoln Center de Nueva York, para ofrecer una corta temporada en el Koch Theatre, desplegando un extraordinario elenco, ahora bajo la dirección de Nicolaj Hübbe, conocido y admirado bailarín estrella del New York City Ballet por varios años.
Tres programas diferentes subieron a la escena, entre ellos, “The Lesson”, de Fleming Flindt, y “La Sylphide”, antigua joya de Auguste Bournonville, que data de 1836.

Legendary MET Opera star soprano Carole Farley is joined by the "Ambassador of French Music", pianist Pascal Rogé, for Poulenc's one-act chamber opera La Voix Humaine. Come see the ultimate interpreter of this work – the fabulous Carole Farley, celebrated the world over for this role. Also included in the program: Debussy – Le balcon, and Ravel – Chansons madecasses (with the participation of MET musicians Samuel Magill, cello and Lucian Rinando, flute).
