NEW YORK CITY BALLET ANNOUNCES 2010 SPRING SEASON

New York City Ballet announced today that the Company’s 2010 Spring Season will begin on Thursday, April 29, with a one-time only gala evening celebrating Architecture of Dance – New Choreography and Music Festival, NYCB’s spring season celebration of new work, featuring seven world premiere ballets, and four commissioned scores.

Santiago Calatrava, one of the world’s most acclaimed architects, will be creating scenic designs for five of the season’s world premieres, marking the first time that he has created theatrical designs. Calatrava and his wife, Robertina, will also serve as the honorary chairs of the April 29 gala evening. The gala program will be announced at a later date.

In February the HAMBURG BALLET embarks on a trip to China. From February 3, John Neumeier and his company will be performing in Beijing, at the China National Center for Performing Arts.

Central School of Ballet

Central School of Ballet was established by Ann Stannard and the late Christopher Gable CBE in 1982. The founders wanted a school that valued the artistic expression in dance, as well as the importance of technique.

Each year around 100 Senior School students attend Central. The Senior School course is one of the most comprehensive dance programmes in the country, and helps students go on to careers in classical ballet, contemporary dance and musical theatre.

Houston Ballet 2010 Summer Intensive Program.

Houston Ballet’s summer program offers six full weeks of intensive classes. Students will have classes Monday – Saturday, with Sundays as their off days.  Classes begin each day around 9:00am or 10:00am depending on the student’s level. The day usually concludes around 5:00pm; however, the schedule varies daily.

Levels 5-8 – June 21 – July 30, 2010.
