Simone Messmer has been promoted to Soloist with American Ballet Theatre. The promotion, effective January 1, 2010, was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.
GERMAN DANCE PLATFORM 2010 in Nuremberg
The 9th GERMAN DANCE PLATFORM will take place in Nuremberg from 25. – 28. February 2010. Over a period of four days around ten productions will be presented, created by independent contemporary dance artists, living and working in Germany.
These works have been selected by a jury, from among those premiered during the previous season.

Ballet Ruso en el Teatre Victòria de Barcelona
El Teatro Victoria trae esta Navidad el mejor ballet del mundo: Bolshoi Academy y Russian Ballet Stars con una selección de las grandes piezas clásicas.
La Bolshoi Academy, la mejor escuela de danza del mundo, presenta dos suites de los cuentos "La fille mal gardée" y "Cascanueces" del 22 al 27 de diciembre. La Gran Gala Russian Ballet Stars reúne entre el 29 de diciembre y el 10 de enero unos de los mejores solistas para interpretar fragmentos de "La Bayadère", "Spartak" o "Raymonda", entre otros.
Nacho Duato with the Bavarian State Ballet
Premiere "Multiplicity. Forms of Silence and Emptiness" with the Bavarian State Ballet created by the Spanish choreographer Nacho Duato.
“Multiplicity. Forms of Silence and Emptiness” is a ballet inspired by the life and work of Johann Sebastian Bach and interprets Bach’s music through the idiom of contemporary dance. In its Christmas premiere the Bavarian State Ballet expresses in virtuoso dance the emotional essence of compositions by Bach.
The premiere will take place on December 23, 2009, 19.30 hrs., at the National Theatre in Munich.
RICHMOND BALLET
The Richmond Ballet, the acclaimed company under the artistic direction of Stoner Winslett, returns April 6 – 11, 2010 to The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue (at 19th Street).
Riding the wave of critical and popular acclaim for its previous performances, the company will return exactly five years after their NYC debut. Celebrated for its diverse repertory and extremely versatile dancers, Richmond Ballet will present their most popular commissioned works, all pieces will be making their Manhattan debut.

Sweet Desembre presenta el trabajo de algunos de los creadores escénicos que han recibido el apoyo de los Espacios Cómodos'09 de La Porta: Carme Torrent, Teatron, Mónica Muntaner, Quim Pujol y Cuqui Jerez. También se presentarán las producciones realizadas en el ciclo virtual Sobrenatural 3, con trabajos de Sergi Fäustino, Rosa Muñoz, Cecilia Vallejos, Ángeles Ciscar y Patrícia Portela. Con esta última se realizará un encuentro especial para conocer mejor su trayectoria e intereses actuales.
Lola Greco y la Compañía Mal Pelo, Premios Nacionales de Danza
Lola Greco, en la modalidad de interpretación, y la Compañía Mal Pelo, en la de Creación, han obtenido los Premios Nacionales de Danza correspondientes a 2009.
Los Premios Nacionales de Danza, uno para cada una de las modalidades de Creación e Interpretación, se otorgan como recompensa y reconocimiento de la meritoria labor de los galardonados en el ámbito de la danza.
Sokolow’s «Kaddish»
Sokolow Theatre Dance Ensemble member LAUREN NASLUND will represent choreographer Anna Sokolow when she dances Kaddish on the 92nd Street Y's Women in Dance Series, December 13 at 3 PM. Other choreographers on the program on Ze'eva Cohen (on film), Carolyn Dorfman, Aviva Geismar, Amy Kail, Barbara Mahler, Virginie Mecene presenting choreography by Pearl Lang, Regina Nejman, Amy Pivar, Maxine Steinman, and Netta Yerushalmy.
