Phoenix Art Museum presents the first ever Museum retrospective to highlight the extraordinary ingenuity of American designer Giorgio di Sant’ Angelo.

The winner of two Coty Awards and two Council of Fashion Designers of America honors, Sant’ Angelo’s notable three-decade career generated a wide array of collections, including Gypsy (1969) and Natives of the Americas (1970), all of which were innovative for their pioneering use of stretch fabrics and powerful expression of the era.

The V&A’s major autumn exhibition will be the first in-depth survey of art, design and architecture of the 1970s and 1980s, examining one of the most contentious phenomena in recent art and design history: Postmodernism. It will show how postmodernism evolved from a provocative architectural movement in the early 1970s and rapidly went on to influence all areas of popular culture including art, film, music, graphics and fashion.

San Petersburgo, ciudad invitada de honor este año en la Mercè, preciosa ciudad imperial y centro cultural en Rusia. Entre otras razones, se la reconoce por ser la ciudad que vivió el estreno de la más famosa coreografía de ballet clásico “El Lago de los Cisnes”. Por ello, el Institut de Cultura de Barcelona, convertirá el Parque de la Ciutadella en el escenario de una excelente producción de este conocido título.

Bajo la dirección artística de Anna Planas, se revestirán los decorados naturales de la Ciutadella con las proyecciones mágicas de Frank Aleu, del 22 al 25 de septiembre.

On October 1, THE HAMBURG BALLET opens the ballet season in Hamburg with Lady of the Camellias. John Neumeier marks the first months of the season with the world premiere of Liliom and the revival of Third Symphony by Gustav Mahler. THE HAMBURG BALLET welcomes two internationally acclaimed dancers who will perform with the company: Alina Cojocaru and Roberto Bolle. For the festive season, two popular ballets by John Neumeier return to the stage of the Hamburg State Opera: Christmas Oratory and The Nutcracker.

El Ballet de Moscú junto al Institut de Cultura de Barcelona, colabora en la producción de El Lago de los Cisnes que tendrá lugar en La Ciutadella de Barcelona durante las fiestas de la Mercé 2011.

El público seguirá la acción del ballet trasladándose de un espacio a otro del parque, en un montaje en el que los espectadores se sentirán especialmente involucrados en la historia.

Vendrán especialmente desde San Petersburgo dos bailarines que bajo la dirección del Maestro y Coreógrafo Timur Fayziev  actuarán en esta espectacular producción.

Las lesiones de los bailarines son un asunto que preocupa en primer lugar a ellos mismos, a sus profesores, asesores médicos, directores de compañías y coreógrafos. La causa de la lesión puede ser un accidente pero con frecuencia es un fallo técnico que no ha sido identificado en una fase temprana, o una variación en el físico del bailarín cuyas implicaciones no se han sopesado. Si bien la prevención es obviamente preferible, es vital un tratamiento apropiado que cubra las necesidades del bailarín aunque no siempre es fácil de hallar.

Le 10 juillet 2011 disparaissait Roland Petit, l’une des plus grandes figures de la danse, associée pour toujours au Ballet de l’Opéra national de Paris.

Le 11 octobre 2011 à 19h30 au Palais Garnier, des films tirés de ses ballets seront projetés lors d’une soirée exceptionnelle lui rendant hommage.
