Three dance companies – Ariel Rivka Dance, WalkingTalking/Catherine Miller, and the Joffrey Ballet School Performance Company – will share a program, bringing their individual styles and aesthetics to a rich program of dance and music,  March 22-24, 8 PM, at MMAC, 248 West 60th Street.

Composer David Homan is also prominently featured in the season, having composed the music for the program's premieres by both Ariel Grossman and Catherine Miller. Homan has also collaborated on several past works by Davis Robertson, including the choreographer's 2005 "Romeo and Juliet" for Ballet/NY at the Joyce Theater.

LAURA  PAWEL  DANCE  COMPANY  IN  THE  PREMIERE  OF  'SWITCHBACKS'  AND  REPERTORY DANCES.

Laura Pawel Dance Company premieres "Switchbacks" and repertory works to original scores, composed and performed live by Barebones (harmonica and guitar duo), the Cecilia Coleman Quartet, and Phil Stone (electronic).

Martínez Burgos gana el III Concurso Internacional de Composición Auditorio Nacional -Fundación BBVA con Before Silence

• El jurado ha valorado la claridad formal de la obra ganadora, así como su presencia, poder y peso desde el punto de vista sinfónico.
• Los premios cuentan con una asignación total de 53.000€. 30.000€ para el primero, 15.000€ para el segundo y 8.000€ para el tercero. La OCNE incluirá Before Silence dentro de su programación para la temporada  2013-2014.
• Las cuatro composiciones finalistas aparecerán en un CD grabado en directo durante el concierto en el Auditorio Nacional.

LYDIA JOHNSON DANCE SHOWCASES NEW WORK AT PERIDANCE with guest MAX VAN DER STERRE, formerly with New York City Ballet.

Lydia Johnson Dance will present a showing of a new women's quintet to excerpts of music by contemporary Argentinian composer Osvaldo Golijov, including his Drams of Isaac the Blind, St. Mark Passion, Kaddish, and Tenebrae.

Las óperas Il trovatore, Medea y Tristan und Isolde abanderan el V Festival del Mediterrani del Palau de les Arts bajo el lema ‘Fuegos y venenos’. El maestro Mehta ofrece un concierto monográfico de Brahms con la OCV, que posteriormente llevará de gira a diversas ciudades de China.

La danza regresa al Festival del Mediterrani con el Ballet Nacional de España en un programa doble: Ángeles caídos y Suite Sevilla. Georges Prêtre se sitúa de nuevo al frente de la formación titular del Palau de les Arts con la Sinfonía Titán de Mahler y la Inacabada de Schubert.

AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE’S CULINARY PAS DE DEUX AT PIER SIXTY IN NEW YORK CITY, MONDAY, MARCH 12 AT 7:00 P.M.

On Monday evening, March 12 at 7:00 P.M., American Ballet Theatre will present its fifteenth Culinary Pas de Deux, a unique evening of dining and dancing, at Pier Sixty in New York City. Hosted by ABT Principal Dancer Marcelo Gomes and Soloists Misty Copeland and Craig Salstein, the event will feature samplings from some of New York City’s most celebrated chefs, pairings from several premier wineries and inventive cocktails designed by the city’s top mixologists. The evening will also include original performances by ABT dancers.
