American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School will hold open auditions for its Children’s Division at 2pm and 3:30pm on Saturday, May 19 at ABT’s 890 Broadway studios in New York City. Children ages 7 to 12 are eligible to attend.

En el Teatro Nacional de Chaillot en París, se presentó entre el 6 y el pasado 13 de abril “Le Sacre du printemps” de Jean-Claude Gallotta, con los bailarines del Centro Nacional Coreográfico de Grenoble, que encabeza Gallotta, uno de los coreógrafos que más contribuyeron a la “nouvelle danse française” que emergió en los 80 del pasado siglo.
Esta “Sacre” se estrenó en Grenoble en el otoño pasado. Está precedida de dos cortas piezas en relación: “Tumulte” y “Pour Igor”. Con el paisaje sonoro de Strigall, introducen a la obra de Stravinsky.

Michaela DePrince, a 17-year-old student of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre, is scheduled to perform on ABC TV’s “Dancing with the Stars” on Tuesday, April 24.

Kenneth MacMillan's ballets are in constant demand by world-famous companies, particularly Romeo and Juliet, Manon and Mayerling. However, MacMillan was tormented by an acute sense of being an outsider, and often at odds with the institutions in which he worked. A real-life Billy Elliot from a Scottish working class family, MacMillan demonstrated a prodigious talent for dancing from an early age.
