BALLET DE L’OPÉRA – DANSEURS CHORÉGRAPHES

 

Les spectacles des « Danseurs Chorégraphes » permettent aux artistes du Ballet de l’Opéra de présenter des « petites formes », fruits de leurs recherches récentes.

Ces rendez-vous offrent ainsi au public la possibilité de découvrir des aspects inédits du talent des artistes, permettant à certains d’entre eux d’évoluer vers des créations de plus grande envergure. Le programme de cette édition se composera de dix solos, duos et œuvres pour petits groupes, interprétés par des danseurs de la Compagnie.

Concurso Internacional de Ballet Clasico de Toulouse (Francia)

 

La Asociacion "Je Monte sur scène" organiza su segundo Concurso Internacinal de Ballet Clasico de Toulouse (Francia).

Este concurso esta abierto a los alumnos de las escuelas de baile, nivel elementario, medio y semi-profesional. El jurado estara presidido por Charles Jude, ex-estrellas de la Opera de Paris y actual Director del Ballet del gran teatro de Burdeos, con la participacion de Sergio Simon, director del ballet de la Opera de Limoges, de las estrellas españolas Laura Hormigon y Oscar Torrado y de Elizabeth Ridet ex bailarina de Ballet de Monte Carlo y del English National Ballet.

Miami City Ballet – Program II this weekend at Adrienne Arsht Center

 

Miami City Ballet continues its 25th Anniversary Season in South Florida with Program II and the Company Premiere of Twyla Tharp's exhilarating Baker's Dozen.

Program II also features George Balanchine's haunting La Sonnambula and buoyant Western Symphony. The Opus One Orchestra will play, under the baton of maestro Gary Sheldon, 42 to 56 musicians strong, supported by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, as part of its Knight Arts Challenge.

HOUSTON BALLET PRESENTS THE FAIRYTALE CLASSIC THE SLEEPING BEAUTY IN MARCH 2011

From March 10-20, 2011, Houston Ballet will revive Ben Stevenson's staging of The Sleeping Beauty, a flagship work for the company and a piece that is recognized as one of the supreme achievements of classical ballet. The ballet is based on the classic French fairytale by Charles Perrault: a beautiful princess is cursed by an evil fairy and doomed to sleep for 100 years – only to be awakened by the kiss of the handsome prince who loves her.

Cory Stearns Promoted to Principal Dancer with ABT

 

CORY STEARNS PROMOTED TO PRINCIPAL DANCER WITH AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE.

Cory Stearns has been promoted to the rank of Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre. The promotion, which becomes effective immediately, was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.
