Stuttgart Ballet Celebrates 50 Year

 

Artistic Director Reid Anderson has announced details forthe Stuttgart Ballet´s 50th Anniversary Celebrations which will be celebrated with a threeweek long Festival from February 4th to 27th, 2011, in the Opera House and Kammertheater of the State Theater Stuttgart.

The Festival will feature current highlights from the company's repertory, three guest companies closely associated with the Stuttgart Ballet, a festive Gala, an International Directors Conference, an Alumni Reunionas well as activities for families and teenagers.

Gala Maya Plisétskaya – Teatro de los Campos Elíseos, París

 

Fue probablemente el acontecimiento del año en París, al menos en el mundo de la danza.

Maya Plisétskaya había escogido a París, y solo a París, que a su vez la había escogido a ella, para festejar sus 85 años, en el Teatro de los Campos Elíseos. La gala, bien nombrada “Ave Maya” –en referencia al documental del mismo nombre, de Nikita Tikhonov, dedicado a una de las más grandes bailarinas de todos los tiempos-, fue presentada por la Fundación Maris Liepa y la Asociación “Los amigos de las temporadas rusas del siglo XXI”, con Sherwood Productions, bajo el patronato del ministro de cultura de Francia, Frédéric Mitterand.

Anatole Bourman entered the Russian Imperial Ballet School at the same time as Nijinsky and became one of his closest friends, and for many years followed his development and career, first as a member of the Imperial Ballet, and later as star of Diaghilev's Ballets Russes.

Jerome Robbins’ NY Export: Opus Jazz. New York City Ballet

 

The first film conceived, created, produced and danced by dancers from the New York City Ballet, this modern-day narrative film adaptation of the 1958 Jerome Robbins' ballet of the same name takes the original choreography (by the legendary creator of West Side Story) and returns it to the streets of New York in this abstract tale of disaffected urban youth set to a rousing jazz score.

Shot on anamorphic 35mm on location all over New York City with a cast of dancers from the New York City Ballet.

Royal Ballet: La Valse -Invitus Invitam -Winter Dreams -Theme and Variation

 

La Valse – Invitus Invitam – Winter Dreams – Theme and Variations: production shots.

Frederick Ashton’s wonderful homage to the waltz, La Valse, opened the Royal Ballet’s mixed bill on 15 October. Set to Maurice Ravel’s evocative score, originally commissioned for the Ballets Russes in 1919, it uses the entire corps-de-ballet to fill the stage with whirling, waltzing dancers in a mist-filled ballroom.

III Gala Ballets de Tenerife en Navidad

 

La formación tinerfeña pone en escena un espectáculo de danza con reminiscencias canarias en música, coreografía y vestuario.

La cita será el Domingo 19 de diciembre a las 20:00 horas en la sala sinfónica del Auditorio de Tenerife. Este nuevo espectáculo, patrocinado por la Consejería de Cultura del Gobierno de Canarias, y organizado por el propio Auditorio de Tenerife y el Centro Internacional de Danza Tenerife, está ideado como homenaje al pueblo canario por lo que se inspira en la su cultura y su folklore canario.
