The Limón Dance Company continues its tradition of honoring and performing classic works and presenting new and innovative dances in "Masters & The Next Generation," a program of works by José Limón, Jiri Kylián, and a World Premiere by company member Jonathan Fredrickson . Performances are December 14 & 15 at 8 PM at Baryshnikov Arts Center, 450 West 37th Street.

The second annual review competition for students of Russian dance schools, the Mikhailovsky Theatre Grand Prix 2010, will take place from 19 to 21 November 2010.
This initiative by the Mikhailovsky Theatre, which aims to cast a spotlight on dance teaching in Russia today, is already becoming a tradition. Young students will once again take to the Mikhailovsky stage to demonstrate the fruits of their – and their teachers’ – labours. Three of Russia’s leading ballet schools will be taking part: The Vanganova Academy of Russian Ballet, the Novosibirsk State Ballet College and the Perm State Ballet College.

Zena Rommett, who has been credited with expanding and extending some of this century's great dancers and athletes, died Wednesday November 10 at 1:26 PM in New York City. The cause was recurring cancer. Ms. Rommett was 90.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday November 14 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Perazzo Funeral Home at 199 Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village between Sixth Avenue and McDougal Street.
