BOSTON BALLET ANNOUNCES SUMMER 2010 SPAIN TOUR

COMPANY’S SECOND SPANISH TOUR TRAVELS TO BARCELONA, MADRID, GRANADA, SAN SEBASTÍAN, SANTANDER, AND LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA.

Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen announced today that Boston Ballet will embark on a five-week tour of Spain in June and July 2010, taking the Company to six cities in various regions of the country. Boston Ballet will travel to Barcelona, Madrid, San Sebastían, Santander, Granada, and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with 22 performances of two programs, Ultimate Balanchine and Made in Boston.

ALICIA ALONSO TO CELEBRATE 90TH BIRTHDAY WITH AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE, THURSDAY, JUNE 3 AT METROPOLITAN OPERA HOUSE.

Alicia Alonso, legendary ballerina and director of National Ballet of Cuba, will celebrate her 90th birthday with American Ballet Theatre on Thursday, June 3 at 7:30 P.M. at the Metropolitan Opera House, it was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.

New York-based RUSSIAN AMERICAN FOUNDATION announces 10 American high school ballet dancers selected for U.S. Department of State sponsored language, culture and ballet program with renowned Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow this summer.

Students are first to receive scholarships designated for language and dance by the prestigious National Security Language Initiative for Youth Program (NSLI-Y).
