AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE’S YOUNG PEOPLE’S BALLET WORKSHOP
Five new works will be presented at American Ballet Theatre’s Young People’s Ballet Workshop at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Metropolitan Opera House. The works were created by ABT dancers on the five winning poems from ABT’s Page to Stage Poetry Contest.
Comenzando con la Gala usual, el American Ballet Theatre ha puesto en marcha su temporada regular de primavera/verano en el Metropolitan, dedicando la primera semana a un programa completo de trabajos del binomio colosal, formado por las composiciones musicales de Peter Ilyitch Tchaikowsky — uno de los más prolíficos escritores de música para ballet del siglo XIX –, y las coreografías de George Balanchine, quien, desafiando todos los cánones de danza establecidos, crearía un estilo diferente de movimiento.

A modo de despedida y en conmemoración a estos 15 años de festival, hemos realizado un DVD que nos ha servido para recrear la memoria y la imágen de muchos momentos vividos a lo largo de estos años y también agradecer la participación de una larga lista de personas, profesionales y entidades, sin las que no hubiera sido posible su realización.
