Queensland Ballet Dance Classes are designed to increase your fitness, flexibility and co-ordination in a fun and supportive environment. Classes are open to adults aged 16yrs+ and take place in our studios in the historic Thomas Dixon Centre in Brisbane’s West End. The classes are run on a casual, drop-in basis. We don’t have terms or start dates, so you can join a class at any time. No dance experience is necessary and all fitness levels are welcome. Just come and have fun!

Beginner Ballet
Teacher: Tracey Carrodus
Learn the elements of ballet in this open and enjoyable class. Perfect for those who would like to give ballet a try.
Open Ballet
Teacher: Timothy Brown / Tracey Carrodus
Develop your technique, co-ordination and rhythm in this class designed for those of any level. Each class will start at the barre and then move into the centre. Suitable if you have done some ballet before or just want to give it a try. If you have been to a beginner class and want to further develop your technique, give this class a try.
Contemporary
Expressions Dance Company teachers
Contemporary dance is EDC’s specialty and in this class, you will learn falling, floor work, jumps and travelling sequences. Classes are based on the company dancers’ own daily training.
Pilates
Teacher: Melissa Tattam
Pilates is an invigorating form of exercise for the mind and body. It works to develop a strong core, promoting leaner muscles and improving participants’ overall sense of well-being.
Dance for Seniors
Teacher: Wendy McPhee
Rekindle or find your love of dance. We are pleased to introduce a new dance class specially designed for mature adults. Drawing upon contemporary dance technique and creative exercises, you will exercise your mind and body in this joyous, challenging and stimulating class. It opens up possibilities, builds confidence and gives permission to go beyond your limits.
