New York International Ballet Competition

• Female entrants must be between 17 and 23 years of age.
• Male entrants must be between 18 and 24 years of age.
• All dancers must enter with competing partner, but are judged individually.
• Dancers are required to send a bio, photos, recommendations, and a DVD or VHS of a classical variation.  Please visit the website at www.nyibc.org to download a complete application with the rules and eligibility requirements.

 
Dancers are scheduled to arrive in New York June 6, 2009,  two weeks prior to the Competition Rounds.   They will be taught the three pas de deux with which they will compete (the pas de deux are not announced in advance – they are named at Orientation on June 7, 2009, so that all dancers start on equal footing).   Each day of the two-week preparation period begins with company class, followed by learning and coaching sessions of the three pas de deux.   Eleanor d'Antuono returns as Artistic Director of NYIBC, and the teaching and coaching staff will be announced.   

The public Competition Rounds will once again take place at The Rose Theater, NYC.
