This event will help us underwrite services for the more than 34,000 animals that come to us annually,” said Guest. “This will be a great night to honor our friend and supporter Martha Swope, while furthering the Humane Society of New York’s important mission. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Society’s essential work, which is more important now than ever before.”

Bidding and photographs can be seen on the Humane Society website at www.humanesocietyny.org and will conclude at the event on Tuesday April 27th. For ticket information, contact Sandra DeFeo at 212.752.4842 ext. 233.

About the Humane Society of New York

For over 100 years, the Humane Society of New York has been a presence in New York City, caring for animals in need when illness, injury or homelessness strikes. In 1904, the Society was founded to protect the city's horses against abuse. Members fought for laws to punish negligent owners and place watering troughs in streets and parks. As funds allowed, the Society expanded to include a free medical clinic and a small adoption center for cats and dogs. Today, the Society’s veterinary clinic and Vladimir Horowitz and Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center help more than 34,000 dogs and cats annually, and the numbers continue to grow.
