World Dance Alliance is an independent, non-profit and non-political organization whose primary goal is to be an advocate for dance worldwide.
WDA was created to answer the desire and need for dancers around the world to communicate and exchange ideas on issues that are of common concern, recognizing that we have truly become a global village.
Dancers, choreographers, teachers, school and company directors, critics, historians, ethnologists, notators, archivists, therapists, managers, and others working in dance related fields, have all come together to create a new organization that will speak for dance in its many aspects and voice its concerns.
The Taiwanese companies appearing on the Festival include Physical Dance Theater, Assembly Dance Theatre, Scarecrow Contemporary Dance Company, Chieh-hua Jeff Hsieh, and Century Contemporary Dance Company.
Other companies on the Festival, which features a different program every night, include Buglisi Dance Theatre (USA), Merian Soto (USA), University of West Indies Festival Dance Ensemble (Trinidad), Sashar Zarif Dance Theatre (Canada), Escola Contemporane de Ballet (Brazil), Sarah Gavina Campus (New Zealand), Sapphire Creations (India), and many others.
