En la Sala Recoletos de la Fundación Mapfre de Madrid -hasta el 20 de diciembre- se exhiben, por primera vez en España pinturas del bailarín Vaslav Nijinsky.
La exposición “La danza de los colores. En torno a Nijinsky y la abstracción” exhibe por primera vez los dibujos de Nijinsky en el contexto de la modernidad visual de su tiempo, prestando así una contribución única a los actos que en todo el mundo conmemoran el centenario de la primera actuación de los Ballets Rusos.

Sucesores para la Compañía de Pina Bausch
Dos colaboradores asumen dirección de la compañía de Pina Bausch.
Dominique Mercy, bailarín de la compañía desde 1973, y Robert Sturm, asistente artístico de Pina Bausch, dirigirán el Tanztheater de manera inmediata por decisión unánime del consejo de la institución artística.
Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch
Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch abre el Festival de Otoño de Madrid 2009 con la obra Kontakthof Mit Damen und Herren ab ´65`, puesta en escena y coreografía de Pina Bausch.
Estrenada en 1978 con los bailarines de la troupe del Tanztheater Wuppertal, la pieza Kontakthof (en alemán, lugar de encuentro y, por extensión, casa de citas) fue retomada en el año 2000 por Pina Bausch (1940-2009) con un elenco compuesto por hombres y mujeres de más de sesenta y cinco años.

There will be a Memorial for Francis Mason on Friday, October 30th, 2009 at 2:00 pm at The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue (at 19th Street).
The speakers and program will be announced soon. It is open to the general public. Francis Mason (88), a cultural diplomat, editor, radio dance critic, writer, and dance devotee, died on Thursday, September 24 at his home in Rye, N.Y. He began his career as a dance writer in the 1950s, and for more than 50 years, he worked in the field of dance.

Donlin Foreman and Jennifer Emerson
The organization, On Common Ground, a producing partnership between Jennifer Emerson and Donlin Foreman, will present six dances by Donlin Foreman, all set to music by composer Andrew Waggoner, played live by an ensemble of superb musicians , featuring cellist Caroline Stinson.
The one-hour, salon style event will include solos and duets performed by Foreman and Emerson, with dancers from the Barnard College/Columbia University Dance Department.

Festival Territorio Danza 2009
Por sexto año consecutivo, Cuarta Pared y Provisional Danza organizan el Festival Territorio Danza, tres semanas dedicadas de pleno a la danza del 5 al 25 de octubre de 2009.
El festival surgió como espacio donde englobar diversas propuestas acogiendo montajes tanto de creadores consagrados como de artistas noveles. Además nos visitarán compañías como Camille Hanson, La Veronal, y en esta edición, nuestro Ciclo Trayectorias está dedicado a la obra de Daniel Abreu.
