Paul Smith is delighted to announce an exhibition of “Royal Ballet Portraits”, a collection of 17 photographs featuring The Royal Ballet’s Principal dancers, to be shown at 9 Albemarle Street, London this autumn.
The Royal Ballet’s Principal dancers have achieved the highest rank in the Company, each performing the leading and most featured roles in the ballets. Paul’s opportunity to photograph them came about last year during a meeting with Principal, Steven McRae.

In the Beginning.
The pioneers who arrived in Israel (Palestine) at the end of the 19th century, wanted to create a Hebrew culture that differed from the Jewish culture identified with the Diaspora. Among the many questions asked, was the question of the kind of dance that would grow and develop in the "new Israel". As long as classical ballet was the only existing artistic genre in Europe, there was no possibility of developing artistic dance in the Yishuv, because of the idealistic opposition of the pioneers to this genre, which symbolized "old world" values in their eyes.

The Royal Danish Ballet announced today that Susanne Grinder has been promoted to Principal Dancer. Nikolaj Hübbe, Ballet Master in Chief of The RDB, made the promotion on Saturday, September 18, following Susanne Grinders performance in Peter Martin's Swan Lake.
At the moment one can see Susanne Grinder dance in Swan Lake, and this coming Saturday, September 25., she will be dancing the premiere of Napoli.
The best of the best! That is An Evening of Masterworks in a nutshell. This year we have gathered three master choreographers in one go. Glen Tetley, William Forsythe and Jirí Kylián have all revolutionized dance in their own way.
