Concert for Japan – The Bavarian State Opera
The Bavarian State Opera will be presenting a Solidarity Concert for the Japanese people at Munich’s Cathedral of Our Lady on April 3. The Bavarian State Orchestra under the direction of Kent Nagano will play Brahms’s “A German Requiem”. The vocal soloists will be Soile Isokoski and Christian Gerhaher.

Finalizan las audiciones de Ópera Prima en Movimiento
Desde el 12 de marzo se llevaron a cabo audiciones en Monterrey, Guadalajara y ciudad de México.
La próxima semana se realizará la etapa resolutiva para la selección de los 20 participantes. Tras el cierre de la convocatoria para participar en Ópera Prima el pasado 5 de marzo, se llevó a cabo la etapa de audiciones en donde los bailarines registrados tuvieron la oportunidad de mostrar sus habilidades ante un jurado.

Particulièrement touché par la situation dramatique vécue par le Japon cette dernière semaine, l’Opéra national de Paris a décidé de dédier la représentation du ballet Coppélia le 20 mars à 14h30 au peuple japonais, en présence de son Excellence l’Ambassadeur du Japon en France.

The Royal Danish Ballet under the artistic direction of Nikolaj Hübbe, will present six evenings of its work June 14-19 at David H. Koch Theater (70 West 63rd Street) in New York as part of their 2011 US Tour.

I have always considered the "Theatre" part of the name "American Ballet Theatre" to be largely attributable to Antony Tudor. His dramatic and emotional ballets played a big part in guiding the company and its dancers through its unique rise to international prominence.
