SPECIAL EVENTS CONNECTED TO RODIN/CLAUDEL THE MUCH-ANTICIPATED BALLET BY PETER QUANZ, WHICH WILL LAUNCH THE 2011-2012 SEASON OF LES GRANDS BALLETS CANADIENS DE MONTRÉAL.
Three special events have been scheduled to coincide with Rodin/Claudel, the sumptuous ballet created by Canadian choreographer Peter Quanz for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, to be presented at the Théâtre Maisonneuve from October 13 to 29.

ERRAND INTO THE MAZE – DIALOG (2011) – SUBJECT TO CHANGE (2003).
In October, the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre will see the premiere of a new project Diana Vishneva: Dialogues. This June, at the Stars of the White Nights Festival, St Petersburg audiences had already got a chance to see a part of this ballet: Errand into the Maze by Martha Graham. Two other works in this project were specially choreographed for Diana Vishneva by John Neumeier: Dialog and by Paul Lightfoot and Sol León: Subject to Change.
Les Galeries Lafayette viennent d'implanter "La galerie de l'Opéra de Paris", une boutique-librairie multimédia consacrée aux arts lyriques et chorégraphiques au coeur du Palais Garnier. L'espace de 270 m² a été conçu par l'architecte Bruno Moinard dans de somptueux volumes classés.
On y visionne des opéras, on y feuillette de beaux livres et on y trouve vêtements de danse et des bijoux de créateurs tels que Repetto, Eric Bompard, Bonpoint, Hervé Van Der Straten… Les lieux sont ouverts les soirs de représentation jusqu'à la fin du spectacle.

Maki Nakagawa is the principal of the Finnish National Ballet. She is important talent in northern Europe and her expression is grace and charming.
She studied ballet in Mito Ballet Institute. Mito city is in Eastern Japan, hence is close to Fukushima. The Institute was damaged by the earthquake on 11th March seriously. In this spring, Ms. Nakagawa organized the charity performance, National Ballet Gala for Japan.

La vida artística de Baryshnikov en cajas
Así reza más o menos en traducción libre mía, el titular del artículo de Patricia Cohen, publicado en la sección de Arte del New York Times recientemente.
Según cuenta la señora Cohen, el gran Misha, ayudado por su esposa, Lisa Rinehart, ha enpaquetado su vida artística en 35 cajas, y las ha llevado personalmente a la Biblioteca Pública de Nueva York (presumo que al ala de la Biblioteca del Lincoln Center), para beneficio de los estudiantes de ballet, que aprovecharán esos tesoros de la vida de uno de los más grandes bailarines que ha producido la danza clásica; sin duda alguna, y aunque no me gusta ser “definitiva” en el uso de ese adjetivo, ha sido el mejor bailar’in del siglo XX.
