AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE TO LAUNCH NATIONAL TRAINING CURRICULUM IN SAINT PETERSBURG, RUSSIA,
OCTOBER 31-NOVEMBER 4, 2011
American Ballet Theatre’s National Training Curriculum, a program of ballet technique combining artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development, will conduct a five-day satellite session in St. Petersburg, Russia, October 31-November 4, 2011.

Civic Mimic de Richard Siegal: eclosión de energía en el “espacio”
The Forsythe Company, la compañía de William Forsythe, ha estrenado en la Festspielhaus (un edificio cuya historia y vibraciones disímiles merecerían un artículo) de Hellerau, Dresden, la obra “Civic Mimic” del norteamericano Richard Siegal, con la “arquitectura” de R&Sien(n) Architects, Paris (fundada en 1989 por François Roche, y la música en vivo del compositor y guitarrista Hubert Machnik.

Al menos así parecía suceder, a juzgar por la propaganda y posteriormente por los llenos en el teatro Koch del Lincoln Center, donde el New York City Ballet (NYCB) presentaba el tan anunciado y esperado estreno del ballet “Ocean´s Kingdom”, con coreografía de Peter Martins, director artístico de la compañía, sobre la música de Sir Paul McCartney, escrita por encargo del NYCB.

The Semi-finals are taking place on 6-7 October. The finalists will then compete on 9 October for the coveted gold, silver or bronze medal, as well as significant prize money. The live audience at the Final will also vote for their favourite candidate who will receive a special Audience Award.

La exposición “Los Ballets Russes de Sergei Diaghilev y su influencia en el Art Déco” es sin duda el proyecto más ambicioso del Museo Art Nouveau y Art Déco en materia expositiva en sus dieciséis años de historia. La exposición es además una oportunidad única para potenciar la imagen de marca de Salamanca en el mercado turístico europeo en general y en el ruso en particular.

John Neumeier choreographs Dialogue for Diana Vishneva in St. Petersburg, Moscow and New York.
John Neumeier is creating a ballet called Dialogue for Diana Vishneva. The Artistic Director of The HAMBURG BALLET and the Russian prima ballerina have known each other for a long time, now Neumeier is choreographing for her for the first time. The pas de deux is the highlight of a triple bill, which demonstrates the development of dance in the 20th and 21st Centuries.
TASCHEN has paired Mailer's original text (his 1973 biography Marilyn) with Bert Stern's extraordinary photographs—widely considered the most intimate ever taken of Monroe—to create a fitting tribute to the woman who, at the time of her death in 1962, was the world's most famous, a symbol of glamour and eroticism for an entire generation.
But though she was feted and adored by her public, her private life was that of a little girl lost, desperate to find love and security.
