‘ANCHISES,’ A COLLABORATION BETWEEN CHOREOGRAPHER JONAH BOKAER AND HARRISON ATELIER TO RECEIVE UNITED STATES PREMIERE AT THE ABRONS ARTS CENTER, NOVEMBER 17-21.

The 70-minute work is set to a commissioned score by Loren Dempster and performed by a cast ranging in age from 24 to 75 years. The performers are Valda Setterfield, Meg Harper, Catherine Miller, James McGinn and Jonah Bokaer. The lighting is by Aaron Copp and costumes by Christophe de Menil. The production received its world premiere on October 6 in Bournemouth, UK at the newly opened Pavilion Dance, which commissioned the work.

NEW YORK CHOREOGRAPHIC INSTITUTE 10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION MILLER THEATRE AT COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY NOVEMBER 4 – 6, 2010.

Composers Kyle Blaha, Jakub Ciupinski, and Mathew Fuerst, along with choreographers Marco Goecke and Jessica Lang, all alumni of the New York Choreographic Institute, will discuss their working process and experiences in a conversation moderated by composer Daniel Ott. This discussion is free, and open to the public, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis.

Miro Magloire's New Chamber Ballet continues its 2010-11 season with a program of new and repertory ballets by Magloire and the Company's Choreographer-in-Residence Emery LeCrone, November 19 & 20 in the City Center Studio 4, 130 West 56 Street.

Magloire will premiere a new duet for Victoria and Alexandra, set to Three Violin Sonatas by George Friderich Handel.

A  través de un comunicado emitido a última hora del jueves, la Dirección del Teatro Colón anunció la suspensión de lo que resta de la Temporada 2010 del Ballet Estable, que incluía las funciones de abono y extraordinarias de El corsario y La bayadera .

Desde el sector gremial plantearon que la suspensión de la temporada podría resultarle funcional a la Dirección del coliseo, en virtud de que “toda la producción de La bayadera está almacenada en la aduana desde hace un par de años, a partir de un conflicto que el Teatro mantiene con un par español.”
