At the exhibition one can also listen rare recordings of famous opera singers of the past, watch fragments of video performances of ballet dancers, read Blok’s and other poets poetry dedicated to the Mariinsky Theatre artists. The exhibition also displays a number of theater posters and programmes from the late XIX – early XX century.

L’exposition présente un parcours dans l’univers vestimentaire des Divas, chanteuses d’opéras, actrices, meneuses de revue, stars de la chanson française… toutes réunies pour cette présentation, sur cette même scène, de façon tout à fait insolite. « Un beau plateau » pourraiton dire.

Continúa en el Mercat el ciclo miraquiballaquí con Thomas Noone Dance, que presenta el espectáculo THE ROOM.
Danza muy física en una coreografía en la que seis intérpretes están encerrados en una habitación, creándose diferentes relaciones entre ellos. Thomas Noone, director, coreógrafo y bailarín londinense, se formó en la prestigiosa escuela Rambert de Londres. En 2001 formó su pròpia companyia y se instaló en Barcelona. La obra se podrá ver en el Mercat los días 30 y 31 de octubre en la sala OM.

Paquita de Joseph Mazilier enchanta Théophile Gautier à sa création à l’Opéra de Paris en 1846. Carlotta Grisi en fut l’une des principales interprètes et Marius Petipa fit voyager le ballet jusqu’en Russie, où il en donna une nouvelle version en 1882. Peu à peu disparu de la scène de l’Opéra, Paquita fut reconstitué avec ferveur par Pierre Lacotte en 2001.

Forty years ago a small, scrappy dance troupe arrived on the scene. It called itself Bottom of the Bucket, But … Dance Theatre. Now transformed into one of the most elegant and original dance troupes in the world, Garth Fagan Dance continues to be directed by its founder Garth Fagan, who, besides becoming the Tony Award-winning choreographer of “The Lion King,” has created works for New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Dance Theatre of Harlem and the Limón Dance Company.
