GEORGE ZORITCH (1917-2009)

George Zoritch, an international ballet star and former University of Arizona professor, passed away Sunday in Tucson. He was in his early 90s.

Zoritch was well-known as many things during his life, including a famous ballet dancer here and in Europe, a teacher, a Hollywood actor and a Broadway dancer.

Merce Cunningham Dance Company Studio Workshops

The Studio continues to be the source of Cunningham dance technique at the professional level, providing dancers with an ongoing experience in learning to see, understand, and explore movement.

Experience the Cunningham technique in person and take classes at the Merce Cunningham Studio through our Open Program. Merce Cunningham Studio is available for rental Monday through Friday from 8 PM to midnight and Saturday through Sunday from 6:30 PM to midnight.

Openig of the NYC Ballet

New York City Ballet has announced the program for the Opening Night Benefit on. Tuesday, November 24 at 7 p.m., which will mark the Company’s first performance in their newly renovated home, the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. The one-time-only program will feature all of the Company’s principal dancers and will open with Alexei Ratmansky’s Concerto DSCH, choreographed for NYCB in 2008.
