Thomas Noone Dance en el Mercat de Barcelona

Continúa en el Mercat el ciclo miraquiballaquí con Thomas Noone Dance, que presenta el espectáculo THE ROOM.

Danza muy física en una coreografía en la que seis intérpretes están encerrados en una habitación, creándose diferentes relaciones entre ellos. Thomas Noone, director, coreógrafo y bailarín londinense, se formó en la prestigiosa escuela Rambert de Londres. En 2001 formó su pròpia companyia y se instaló en Barcelona. La obra se podrá ver en el Mercat los días 30 y 31 de octubre en la sala OM.

Paquita de Joseph Mazilier enchanta Théophile Gautier à sa création à l’Opéra de Paris en 1846. Carlotta Grisi en fut l’une des principales interprètes et Marius Petipa fit voyager le ballet jusqu’en Russie, où il en donna une nouvelle version en 1882. Peu à peu disparu de la scène de l’Opéra, Paquita fut reconstitué avec ferveur par Pierre Lacotte en 2001.

BOSTON INTERNATIONAL BALLET COMPETITION ANNOUNCES THE LIEPA PRIZE

The Boston International Ballet Competition (BIBC), founded and directed by Valentina Kozlova, is proud to announce that, added to its list of awards, is the Liepa Prize, named for Maris Liepa, legendary dancer, choreographer and teacher at the Bolshoi Ballet.

The Maris Liepa Fund, directed by Liepa's children Andris and Ilze, was established for the purpose of preserving and celebrating the beauty of classical ballet. Andris Liepa, former principal with the Bolshoi Ballet and one of the judges of the new BIBC, will present the award to an outstanding dancer of his choice.

Rodolfo Mederos: el tango se ha «macdonalizado».

El compositor y bandoneonista argentino Rodolfo Mederos, de 70 años, termina de cumplir con gran éxito una gira de una semana por Alemania al frente de su trío, con presentaciones en una velada de gala de la Alte Oper de Francfort, junto con el pianista y director de orquesta argentino-israelí Daniel Barenboim, y en la Staatsoper de Berlín (Schiller-Theater, donde se aloja actualmente esta casa de ópera mientras es remozado su histórico edificio en el elegante bulevar Unter den Linden, de la capital alemana).

PrettyBallerinas contra el Cáncer de Mama

PrettyBallerinas ha creado una edición muy especial con motivo del Día Internacional contra el Cáncer de Mamá.

Octubre es el mes oficial para crear conciencia sobre Cáncer de Mama a escala mundial y PrettyBallerinas ha querido sumarme un año más a esta lucha diseñando una bailarina muy especial para apoyar la prevención e investigación de la enfermedad.

Los días 19 y 20 de noviembre en el marco del festival Mikhailovsky Grand Prix the Moscow Stanislavsky y Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre se presentarán tres ballets de dos grandes coreógrafos de renombre mundial: Sechs Tänze y Petite Mort por Jiří Kylián y Na Floresta por Nacho Duato.

Manifiesto en apoyo a los alumnos del Conservatorio de Danza José Espadero de Alicante.

Las aulas del Conservatorio de Danza José Espadero ponen en riesgo la integridad física de estudiantes y profesores. Las clases de Danza se trasladan al gimnasio, donde cuelgan del techo, a punto de caer, varias de las placas superiores, y donde los estudiantes no disponen ni de aseo ni de vestuarios, lo que acarrea no pocos catarros al verse obligados a salir fuera para cambiarse.
