EL NEDERLANDS DANS THEATER INICIA LA TEMPORADA DE DIRECTOS EN LOS CINES

Empieza la temporada de directos desde La Haya con la retransmisión, el próximo 15 de noviembre, de An evening with… Kylián, Inger & Walerski.

An evening with… Kylián, Inger & Walerki será el primero de los 4 ballets que esta temporada podrán verse en la gran pantalla. An evening with… León & Lightfoot, el 20 de diciembre; An evening with… Crystal Pite, el 7 de febrero y An evening with…Ekman, Eyal & Behar and León & Lightfoot, el 30 de mayo; completarán la serie.

Exhibition Vaslav Nijinsky and John Neumeier in context of the 3rd International Festival “Diaghilev. P.S.” in St. Petersburg

From November 5th to December 12th the Foundation John Neumeier Dance Collection will present the exhibition “Vaslav Nijinsky and John Neumeier” in cooperation with the St. Petersburg State Museum of Theatre and Music. The curators John Neumeier, Hans-Michael Schäfer and Natalia Metelitsa will show more than a hundred pieces from Mr. Neumeiers private collection as well as from the Foundation John Neumeier.

The Hong Kong Ballet presents A Ballet Soirée. This salon of international ballet – featuring six short pieces varying in style, origin and mood – will showcase something to suit every taste.

Choreographers from around the world are represented, including the father of modern ballet George Balanchine, one of today’s foremost choreographers Spanish-born Nacho Duato, acclaimed German choreographer Christian Spuck, famous American choreographer Val Caniparoli, Taiwanese-American creator Edwaard Liang and emerging Chinese talent, Li Jun. Prima ballerina Tan Yuan Yuan and her partner Vito Mazzeo from San Francisco Ballet will join stars Jin Yao, Wu Fei-fei, Wu Yan, Zhang Yao and the rest of The Hong Kong Ballet’s cosmopolitan dancers to create a truly international experience.

El MES DE DANZA llega a su 19ª edición bajo el lema DANZA EN LA RETINA. Bajo este enunciado, y al igual que en ediciones anteriores, miramos a la danza desde una perspectiva amplia, incidiendo este año en la relación (nada novedosa pero si privilegiada) que la danza ha mantenido a lo largo de toda su historia con las artes visuales y las artes plásticas. Muchos de los espectáculos y actividades propuestas en esta edición tienen como eje creativo este vínculo.

Desde 1994, el Mes de Danza, Muestra Internacional de Danza Contemporánea, evento de iniciativa privada, ha contribuido al conocimiento de la danza contemporánea en Sevilla y en Andalucía, donde, por aquel entonces, era una gran desconocida.

El Director General del INAEM, Miguel Ángel Recio, y el Director Artístico de la Compañía Nacional de Danza, José Carlos Martínez, presentan su nuevo proyecto CNDclásica.

La CND© nace como una subdivisión de la CND en la que se desarrollarán nuevos proyectos relacionados con la técnica clásica. Sus componentes serán orientados técnica, estilística y artísticamente hacia las tonalidades más clásicas de la paleta de registros que ofrece la danza.

Mikhailovsky Theatre’s 180th Season Opened on 13 September

This season is dedicated to the build-up to a landmark date: the 180 year anniversary of the founding of the Mikhailovsky Theatre. This date will be celebrated in a year’s time, in autumn 2013. Vladimir Kekhman, the Mikhailovsky Theatre’s General Director, has been talking about the Theatre’s plans.

The 180th season opened on 13 September with the ballet Giselle, ou Les Wilis. The leading roles were performed by Polina Semionova and Marcelo Gomes. These world-famous dancers will regularly appear throughout the season on the stage of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, both in the classical and contemporary repertoires.

Vaganova Ballet Academy Prepares for the Grand Prix

The Mikhailovsky Theatre Grand Prix will take place on 21 and 22 November, and among those taking part, by tradition, will be pupils from the Vaganova Ballet Academy.

Participation in the Grand Prix is one of the most important stages in the preparations for a significant date: in May 2013 the Vaganova Ballet Academy will celebrate its 275th anniversary. There will be special concerts in St. Petersburg and Moscow to mark the occasion.

This year Nacho Duato, who considers his collaboration with the Ballet Academy to be of fundamental importance, has offered the students his famous ballet Na Floresta to the music of Heitor Villa-Lobos.
