Russian ballerina to join the Company in 2013/14 Season.
Russian ballerina Natalia Osipova is to join The Royal Ballet in the 2013/14 Season. Her first performances will be as Juliet in Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet, partnered by Carlos Acosta.

En 1713, Louis XIV fondait un ‘conservatoire’ de danse – au sens littéral du terme – destiné à perfectionner le talent des artistes selon des codes précis, jetant ainsi les fondements du style chorégraphique français. Trois cents ans plus tard, l’École de Danse perpétue la mission qui lui est confiée : transmettre sa tradition à ses futurs artistes. Le spectacle s’articule, cette saison, autour de quatre oeuvres évoquant la tradition française et son évolution. Aux côtés de ces représentations, une série de manifestations est programmée tout au long de la saison pour célébrer le Tricentenaire de l’École française, et notamment une représentation exceptionnelle qui s’achèvera avec le Défilé du Corps de Ballet ainsi qu’un gala autour des Écoles de danse du XXIE siècle.
Ballet Tech will return to the Joyce Theater for a six-performance run featuring that fabulous youth dance troupe, Kids Dance. Among the performances will be Upside D∀NƆE, Eliot Feld’s newest ballet for 37 crazy wonderful dancing kids from the Ballet Tech school. These spunky ragamuffins will also perform Feld’s classic Meshugana Dance, and A Stair Dance. Special guest Wei-Chia Su will charm with his open-hearted zany dancing of the 1st act of Zeppo, an intermission in three acts, inspired by the Marx brother nobody knows.
