The second annual Boston International Ballet Competition (BIBC) will take place June 15-17 at the Cutler Majestic Theater in Boston, with almost 100 young dancers, ages 13 to 25, from 16 countries around the world, dancing before a panel of internationally renowned ballet company directors and choreographers.

The Hong Kong Ballet is delighted to announce its debut at the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur (FASS), one of Québec’s most important artistic and cultural events. The appearance at FASS will complete the Company’s three week tour of North America this summer — a total of 11 performances are planned at three festivals: FASS, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Presents, and Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, America’s longest-running and most prestigious Dance Festival.
The Hong Kong Ballet announces 2012-13 Season
The Hong Kong Ballet’s 2012-13 season presents a selection of the most delightful fairytale ballets from the classical repertoire, along with three innovative new ballets commissioned by the Company that will be premièred here in Hong Kong.
The season opens in August with Cinderella at the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre from 31st August – 2nd September 2012. This charming fairytale of true love will be enjoyed by all the family; parents and children alike will be swept away by the whirlwind of characters, from the dastardly step-mother, to the dreamy Prince and the ugly sisters.

NEW YORK CITY BALLET T0 CELEBRATE LEGENDARY FASHION DESIGNER VALENTINO GARAVANI
New York City Ballet announced today that its 2012 Fall Gala on Thursday, September 20 will feature a special one-time-only celebration of the legendary fashion designer and master couturier, Valentino Garavani, often known simply as Valentino.
The evening will also include a new pas de deux by choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, which will also feature costumes designed by Valentino.
ERNST LUDWIG KIRCHNER (1880-1938) en FUNDACIÓN MAPFRE
FUNDACIÓN MAPFRE ha presenta la exposición Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880-1938), que podrá visitarse en la Salas Recoletos (Pº de Recoletos, 23. Madrid) hasta el día 2 de septiembre.
La exposición, compuesta por 153 obras, comprende óleos y piezas sobre papel y esculturas y sólo podrá verse en Madrid. Como complemento a la exposición se presenta una selección de 35 copias modernas de las fotografías con las que Kirchner documentó su vida y su proceso creativo.

DIES DE DANSA, el festival de danza contemporánea en espacios urbanos, llega este año a su 21ª edición y presenta la programación más variada y sorprendente de su trayectoria. Cuatro días de programación donde se podrán ver un total de 28 espectáculos de 25 compañías de todo el mundo.

World-renowned prima ballerina Darcey Bussell CBE has been elected President of the Royal Academy of Dance, the fourth in our 92-year history. Widely recognised as one of the most accomplished English ballerinas of all time, Darcey joined the Royal Ballet in 1988 and became a Principal Dancer just one year later in 1989.

Brayan Batif se alzó con el máximo galardón del certamen por su interpretación de ‘La fille mal gardée’ y ‘With shirt’. El segundo y tercer puesto recayeron en Laura Noguera y María Pujante, respectivamente.
La Gala Final del IV. Premio ‘Tiempo de Danza’ constó de dos actos, distribuidos de la siguiente forma: en el primero, se llevó a cabo la fase del concurso con la interpretación de las piezas de repertorio clásico por parte de los concursantes, precedida de la actuación del ganador del pasado año: Alejandro Martínez.

After the double-bill Marguerite and Armand and Concerto DSCH, the Ballet Season at Teatro alla Scala will continue in September and October with Cranko and Petipa, with Čaikovskij and Glazunov: on stage Onegin, (for nine performances from September 7th) and Raymonda (from October 3rd to October 13th).
The New Ballet Season 2012 – 2013 will start in December 2012 with the Scala premiere of Sasha Waltz’s Roméo et Juliette.

Ballet Hispanico, recognized as the preeminent Latino dance institution in the United States, presents the return of its groundbreaking choreography institute, Instituto Coreográfíco, held June 4 -15, 2012 at the company's headquarters at 167 W. 89th Street, NYC. This year's Instituto Coreográfico features choreographers Rosie Herrerra and Abdul Latif with panelists Richard Chen See, Francesca Harper, and Risa Steinberg.
