Josua Hoffalt nommé Danseur Étoile de l’Opéra national de Paris

Sur proposition de Brigitte Lefèvre, Directrice de la Danse, Nicolas Joel, Directeur de l’Opéra national de Paris, a nommé Josua Hoffalt, Danseur Étoile de l’Opéra national de Paris, à l'issue de la première représentation de La Bayadère de Rudolf Noureev – au cours de laquelle il interprétait le rôle de Solor – à l’Opéra Bastille, le mercredi 7 mars 2012, Josua Hoffalt interprètera à nouveau ce rôle aux côtés de Aurélie Dupont, dans le rôle de Nikiya, et de Dorothée Gilbert, dans celui de Gamzatti, les 17, 20 et 22 mars 2012.

JOSUA HOFFALT Danseur Etoile du Ballet de l’Opéra national de Paris

Né en 1984 dans le sud de la France, Josua Hoffalt commence la danse à l’âge de huit ans au conservatoire de Marignane, puis rejoint le « Studio Ballet », à Marseille (1994).

Il intègre l’Ecole de Danse de l’Opéra national de Paris en 1998.

Valery Gergiev to Conduct Shostakovitch Cycle

A pair of concerts on March 24th & 25th on the stage of the Munich Philharmonie will continue a joint project between the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theatre and Valery Gergiev, which is aimed to perform a complete cycle of fifteen symphonies by Dmitri Shostakovich during the 2011/12 concert season in Munich.

The project started in November last year and continued in December — four Shostakovich’s symphonies had been performed by the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev.

12th International Ballet Festival Mariinsky

From March 22nd to April 1st, the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre will be hosting the 12th International Ballet Festival Mariinsky, which is a noticeable annual spring event in the world of ballet.

The Festival presents a range of performances of selected works from the ballet repertoire of the Mariinsky Theatre, which along with the soloists of the Mariinsky Ballet, feature famous dancers from prestigious international ballet companies. Every year the Festival brings a new work to the repertoire of the Mariinsky Ballet.

Un collage antes del collage – Museu Picasso de Barcelona

Pablo Picasso inventó el collage artístico en torno a la primavera de 1912. Pero mucho antes de eso, en marzo de 1899 en Barcelona, ya había realizado un dibujo al que enganchó una imagen reproducida técnicamente: el retrato de una actriz. Ahora sabemos que esta pieza encolada es un cromo de una caja de cerillas, un tipo de impreso muy popular a finales del siglo XIX.

«Un collage antes del collage» es una muestra organizada y producida por el Museu Picasso de Barcelona.
