El Patronato del Teatro Real se ha reunido en la tarde de hoy, en sesión extraordinaria, para rendir homenaje al escritor Mario Vargas Llosa, Patrono de esta institución, con motivo de la concesión del Premio Nobel de Literatura en la última edición de los premios de la Academia Sueca.
EL TEATRO REAL Y LA FILARMÓNICA DE BERLÍN ABREN LAS PUERTAS A LOS JÓVENES.
El Teatro Real y la Filarmónica de Berlín abrirán la sala de coliseo madrileño el próximo sábado, 30 de abril, a 1500 jóvenes estudiantes que podrán asistir, de forma gratuita, al ensayo general del concierto que la formación alemana ofrecerá el domingo 1 de mayo en una nueva edición del Concierto Europa. Esta decisión forma parte del compromiso educativo y social que ambas instituciones tienen en sus proyectos culturales.
ALEXEI RATMANSKY TO EXTEND CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE THROUGH 2023
Alexei Ratmansky, Artist in Residence with American Ballet Theatre since 2009, has extended his contract with the Company through 2023, it was announced today by ABT Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.
Ratmansky previously signed a five-year agreement as Artist in Residence with American Ballet Theatre. His new contract extends his role for another ten years through 2023.
ÓPERA EN SECUNDARIA llega a las 100 representaciones con el nuevo espectáculo L’Orquestra dels Animals.
El 7 y 8 de mayo se representará esta ópera infantil, basada en el cuento Los músicos de Bremen de los hermanos Grimm. Òpera en Secundaria es una propuesta educativa conjunta que se inició el año 1998 con el estreno de la ópera Brundibár de Hans Krasa. Desde entonces se ha repetido ininterrumpidamente cada año.
Los músicos de Bremen con música de Andrea Basevi y libreto de Roberto Piumini.

World Ballet Start dance to support Japanese people
To the biggest dance event in the world invite on 8 May 2011 more than 30 stars from 15 ballet and dance companies one. Participants also include two Russian folk ensembles, which won the first prizes TANZOLMP 2011. All they dance in an unprecedented relief operation without a fee, the total proceeds from the gala will benefit the victims of the earthquake disaster in Japan.
El Teatro Real dedica a Antonio Gades tres diferentes espectáculos, una exposición, debates y funciones pedagógicas en el año en que se conmemora el 75 aniversario de su nacimiento.
Entre los días 26 de abril y 13 de mayo el Teatro Real, en colaboración con la Fundación Antonio Gades, ha organizado un ambicioso programa de homenaje al más gran coreógrafo español, ofreciendo cuatro de sus ballets en tres diferentes espectáculos, que se presentarán en función doble: Carmen, días 6 y 13 de mayo; Fuenteovejuna, día 8 de mayo (matiné y tarde); Bodas de sangre y Suite flamenca, días 9 y 11 de mayo.

The nominees of the Рrize-2011 have been announced as well as the participants of the two Festival's galas on May 24 and 25.
Los premios "Benois de la Danse" regresan este mayo a Moscú.
Fue anunciada la lista de nominados a este premio internacional, que son otorgados por la consecución de los éxitos coreográfico más destacados de la temporada pasada. El número de nominados este año es de unos 50, que representan a 14 de las principales compañías de danza del mundo.
