The Mariinsky Ballet, the famous Russian ballet troupe once known as the Kirov, is to perform in Toronto in March 2011.
The Mariinsky Ballet is scheduled to perform at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, now under construction but scheduled to reopen in October 2010.
The Mikhailovsky Ballet from St Petersburg return to London’s biggest theatre, the London Coliseum, with a season including two world premieres and two UK premieres.
Following their successful 2008 visit the company, now in their 177th season, come to the capital with another exciting two-week season.

The Antony Tudor Ballet Trust recognizes the value of an impressive online video library to inspire and potentially fund more significant investments in the rehearsal time necessary to learn Tudor’s delicately nuanced passages and ultimately develop better, more well-rounded dancers overall. The site, and subsequent increase in licensing revenues, will also aid in the continued restoration of Tudor’s ballets.

In a scenery of Indian temples and palaces the story of a true, but forbidden love is told: Nikia, the ‘bayadere’ or Indian temple dancer, who dedicated her life to the gods, loves the noble warrior Solor, who himself is already promised since his childhood as bridegroom to the beautiful daughter of the Rajah, Hamsatti. Undergone by intriques and submitted to the strict laws of tradition, the love between Nikia and Solor cannot come to a happy ending.
Dancers Over 40 continues its fascinating series of tributes to Broadway dance greats with Michael Bennett: A Joyful Noise, featuring an impressive roster of Broadway veterans who worked with the great choreographer/director, Monday May 17th at 8 PM, St. Luke's Theater.
Dancers Over 40 has gathered a group of members and their friends who performed with and for Bennett in shows throughout the 60's and 70's (one DO40 member knew Bennett in Buffalo from the time they were 5 years old and danced on the local Buffalo teen dance show when they were 12 – choreographed by Bennett)!

With the revival of Giselle, the Stuttgart Ballet lures its audience away into the world of the classical-romantic ballet of the 19th century.
It is the new, 1999 version by Reid Anderson and Valentina Savina, based on the choreography of Jean Coralli, Jules Perrot and Marius Petipa. The story of the peasant girl Giselle, who has been seduced and betrayed by Duke Albrecht, dies of a broken heart and continues to dance as a "Wili" in the spirit world of Queen Myrtha, remains to this day one of the loveliest and most distinctive works of the classical repertoire.
