Whereas the Bolshoi Ballet Company is a frequent visitor to the United States (its last visit was two years ago), it has not been to Canada, where the tour kicks off, since 1979.

The tour will open with a series of performances of Swan Lake at Toronto’s main theatre and concert venue — the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (auditorium capacity — close on 3200 seats!). The accompanying orchestra will be made up of musicians from the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and from the Canadian Opera and the National Ballet of Canada Orchestras.
