DANCERS FROM 16 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD APPLY TO BOSTON INTERNATIONAL BALLET COMPETITION (BIBC)
Dancers from countries around the world are applying to Boston International Ballet Competition (BIBC), founded and directed by Valentina Kozlova and scheduled for its first event this May 12-16 in John Hancock Hall, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

NEW AWARDS INCLUDE A CONTRACT WITH THE WASHINGTON BALLET STUDIO COMPANY
Dancers from countries around the world are applying to Boston International Ballet Competition (BIBC), founded and directed by Valentina Kozlova and scheduled for its first event this May 12-16 in John Hancock Hall, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
BIBC has received applications from dancers in:
- Armenia
- Belarus
- Brazil
- Canada
- China
- Cyprus
- El Salvador
- Italy
- Japan
- Kyrgystan
- Russia
- South Korea
- Spain
- The Philippines
- Ukraine
- USA
Participants are divided into three categories:
Senior Division, ages 19-25
Junior Division, ages 15-18
Student Division, ages 13 & 14.
BIBC announces a new award: Septime Webre, Artistic Director of the Washington Ballet, will offer a contract with the Washington Ballet Studio Company for the 2011-12 season to an outstanding BIBC participant.
This award will be added to the cash prizes, totalling nearly $40,000, as well as the Liepa Prize, named for the legendary Maris Liepa and selected by Andris Liepa, one of the BIBC judges, to be presented to an outstanding participant. Konstantin Uralsky, artistic director of the Chelyabinsk State Academy Opera and Ballet Theater in Russia will select another dancer on the highest level to perform the lead roll in a full-length classical production – all expenses paid – date and production to be announced. Arts Ballet Theater in Florida, Vladimir Issaev, Director, has offered scholarships to two dancers in the Student and Junior Divisions for their Summer Intensive Program of Russian Technique, as well as a one-year contract with the Arts Ballet Theater for a dancer in the Senior Division.
