La ciudad de Barcelona será la sede durante 5 días de una muestra de las mejores obras de danza y teatro contemporáneo.
Por quinto año consecutivo la RED de Teatros Alternativos plantea la posibilidad de que una ciudad, este año Barcelona, acoja este programa, que aglutina por un lado, a profesionales y compañías de todo el estado; por el otro, a las 35 salas de teatro distribuidas en 12 comunidades autonómicas, y finalmente al público de Barcelona.

Alexei Ratmansky’s The Nutcracker
American Ballet Theatre Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky will choreograph an all-new production of the Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky classic, The Nutcracker to premiere at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in December 2010.
ABT’s World Premiere of The Nutcracker was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie at a press conference held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

The Limón Dance Company will appear at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, China, December 3-7, presenting four performances – two different programs, featuring live music performed by the Chinese Musical Conservatory. Though the Company has toured extensively throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Europe, most recently in Italy, this marks Limón’s first trip to China.

Valentina y Leonid Kozlov hicieron historia, cuando durante una gira artística con el Ballet Bolshoi, en Los Angeles, en 1979, pidieron asilo político. Era la época de las deserciones de los bailarines soviéticos: En 1961 Rudolf Nureyev lo había hecho; luego le seguiría Natalia Makarova en 1970. Cuatro años más tarde Mijail Baryshnikov continuaría por ese camino, también tomado por Alexander Godunov, y los Kozlov. Estos últimos cerrarían la década, por más que después vendrían otros más.

Il trovatore se presenta en el Gran Teatre del Liceu con un total de 19 funciones entre el día 2 y 30 de diciembre.
Con motivo de la conmemoración del décimo aniversario del nuevo Liceu, la función del día 2 de diciembre estará presidida por SSMM los Reyes.
Estreno en el Gran Teatre del Liceu el 20 de mayo de 1854.
