El renombrado Festival Tanzolymp (Olimpo de la danza) de Berlín que promueve y premia anualmente a jóvenes bailarines de gran talento de todo el mundo, celebrará su décima edición desde el 17 al 22 de febrero de 2013, anunciaron sus organizadores.
«En esta oportunidad tendremos a 2.000 participantes de 40 países, entre ellos de Brasil, México, Venezuela, Cuba y Argentina», dijo a Danza Ballet Oleksi Bessmertni, iniciador y director general del evento.
En 2011 se realizaron 913 funciones de danza en la región y la recaudación aumentó un 4,2%. La Comunidad lidera la oferta cultural de danza con una tercera parte de la programación nacional.
La Comunidad de Madrid presentó hoy una de las innovaciones del recién estrenado XXVII Festival Internacional Madrid en Danza 2012: un ‘camión teatro’ que recorrerá la región con el espectáculo Trátame como me merezco on the road, de la compañía Losdedae, interpretado por su director y Premio Nacional de Danza, Chevi Muraday, y el actor y bailarín Alberto Velasco.
Miguel Klingenberg e Isidre Fainé, nuevos Patronos de la Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza
En la Junta de Patronato de la Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza celebrada hoy, miércoles 7 de noviembre, se ha aceptado el nombramiento de Miguel Klingenberg como Patrono Thyssen-Bornemisza. Propuesto por la familia Thyssen-Bornemisza, sustituye en el cargo a Norman Rosenthal, tras su renuncia el pasado mes de julio.

The Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre, directed by Principal Franco De Vita, was awarded the 2012 Prix Rome Jia Ruskaja by the Foundation of the National Academy of Dance, the official dance institution of the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research. The award will be bestowed December 13 at a gala presentation given at the Teatro Comunale in Florence, Italy.

John Neumeier is the Alma mater of the Hamburg Ballet. Author, creator and choreographer, he took over as artistic director of the company in 1996. Equipped with a vast knowledge of the great tradition of classical ballet repertoire, it was under his direction that the Hamburg Ballet quickly became one of the most important and prestigious companies in the world.

“Lady of the Camellias” with two different casts in St. Petersburg // Festival in honour of John Neumeier
As part of the 3rd International Festival “Diaghilev. P.S.”, taking place in St. Petersburg from November 5th to November 9th in honour of John Neumeier, THE HAMBURG BALLET will give two guest performances at the Mikhailovsky Theatre: On November 6th and November 7th the company will perform John Neumeier’s ballet “Lady of the Camellias” to the music by Frédéric Chopin.
The first premiere of the 2012/2013 season, entitled Forever Young, combines three high caliber ballets – all from different times – which have one thing in common: they have become an integral part of dance history and seem to have no expiry date.
In 2003, English choreographer Russell Maliphant created the trio Broken Fall for Sylvie Guillem, William Trevitt and Michael Nunn at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. Broken Fall is a piece about an immutable state of human existence, the constant danger of falling. In playing with opposing forces: gravity and the physical strength of the dancers, Broken Fall truly becomes an extraordinary work of art. The female soloist climbs onto her male partners, balancing seamlessly in high spheres.

Exhibition Vaslav Nijinsky and John Neumeier in context of the 3rd International Festival “Diaghilev. P.S.” in St. Petersburg
From November 5th to December 12th the Foundation John Neumeier Dance Collection will present the exhibition “Vaslav Nijinsky and John Neumeier” in cooperation with the St. Petersburg State Museum of Theatre and Music. The curators John Neumeier, Hans-Michael Schäfer and Natalia Metelitsa will show more than a hundred pieces from Mr. Neumeiers private collection as well as from the Foundation John Neumeier.
