Les Grands Ballets lancent leur saison avec l’adaptation réputée d’une légende japonaise

Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal amorcent leur saison 2012-2013 le jeudi 11 octobre en présentant la première canadienne du magistral ballet narratif Kaguyahime, Princesse de la lune, du fameux chorégraphe tchèque Jirí Kylián. Adaptation de l’une des plus anciennes légendes de la littérature japonaise, la pièce raconte comment une magnifique princesse tombée du ciel sème le trouble dans l’empire du Soleil levant.

Julio Bocca designado embajador iberoamericano de la cultura

El bailarín argentino Julio Bocca, director del Ballet Nacional de Uruguay y residente en Montevideo, fue designado embajador iberoamericano de la cultura, informó ayer el gobierno uruguayo.

La distinción destaca su trayectoria artística y compromiso con los principios de la Carta Cultural Iberoamericana y la ceremonia de investidura se realizará en Cádiz el próximo viernes en el marco de los festejos por el bicentenario de la Constitución de esta ciudad española.

Ivan Vasiliev Named Principal Dancer with ABT

Ivan Vasiliev, principal dancer with the Mikhailovksy Ballet, has been named a Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre, effective immediately, it was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. He is scheduled to perform during the 2013 Metropolitan Opera House season and on ABT’s national and international tours.

Born in Vladivostok, Russia, Vasiliev studied at the Dnepropetrovsk Ballet School in Ukraine and later at the Belarusian State Choreographic College in Minsk, graduating in 2006.

Muere en Buenos Aires la bailarina y maestra Olga Ferri

Olga Ferri (1928-2012), Buenos Aires, Argentina, fue una bailarina y maestra argentina de relevancia internacional. Primera figura del ballet del Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires, junto a Esmeralda Agoglia, María Ruanova, Violeta Janeiro y la malograda Norma Fontenla, integró el notable grupo de primeras bailarinas del teatro porteño de las décadas del 50-70.

En el Teatro Colón, en 1971 Rudolf Nureyev la elige como partenaire para su versión y estreno en Argentina de El Cascanueces. Baila como protagonista «Coppelia”, “La bella durmiente del bosque”, “Orfeo” de Andrade; y los estrenos mundiales de “Romeo y Julieta” (junto a José Neglia), “ La Cenicienta ” de Skibine y “ La Sylphide ” de Lacotte.

Falleció el 16 de septiembre en Buenos Aires.

«Rudolf Noureev, la trame d’une vie» exposition

Les costumes de l’exposition « Rudolf Noureev, la trame d’une vie », présentés au CNCS en 2009, ont quitté les réserves du CNCS aujourd’hui, vendredi 14 septembre, pour un long voyage en direction de San Francisco.

L’exposition est remontée début octobre 2012 au De Young Museum de San Francisco et sera présentée jusqu’au 17 février 2013.
