Los días 29 y 31 de enero y 2 de febrero a las 19.00 horas el Teatro Real presentará Parsifal, de Richard Wagner con instrumentos originales reconstruidos.

El Festival de ‘Danza Oviedo 2013’ iniciará su nueva andadura el próximo día 19 de febrero con las coreografías del Barcelona Ballet en el teatro Campoamor a partir de las 20.00 horas. El festival se extenderá hasta finales de junio, tiempo en el que se ofrecerán 8 funciones diferentes a cargo de 6 grandes compañías de baile.
El bailarín y coreógrafo francés Benjamin Millepied, esposo de la actrix israelo-norteamericana Natalie Portman, ha sido nombrado a sus 35 años para el prestigioso puesto de director del Ballet de la Ópera de París, según anunció la institución.
Millepied sucederá en octubre de 2014 a Brigitte Lefèvre, y es conocido por el gran público por haber coreografiado e interpretado en 2010 el filme «Black Swan» (cisne negro). Allí conoció a la actriz, con la que ha tenido un hijo.
S’inspirant d’un conte ancestral, Jiří Kylián signe avec Kaguyahime une oeuvre à la portée universelle et intemporelle où s’exprime sa fascination pour la culture japonaise. Il accompagne comme en un songe enveloppant le passage sur terre de cette princesse lunaire venue porter aux hommes un message de paix et d’amour mais dont la beauté n’éveille que convoitise jusqu’à engendrer des combats fratricides. Chorégraphe de l’épure Jiří Kylián développe une danse tantôt fluide et langoureuse tantôt frénétique, entraînée par le déferlement de l’orchestre.

Benjamin Millepied, the choreographer and a former principal at New York City Ballet, will be the new director of dance at the Paris Opera Ballet, starting in September 2014.
The announcement, to be made on Thursday morning at the Palais Garnier by the general director of the Paris Opera, Nicolas Joel, will end months of intense speculation surrounding the successor to Brigitte Lefèvre, the director of dance at the Paris Opera since 1995 who plans to retire at the end of the 2013-14 season.

RINA DVOROVENKO TO GIVE FINAL PERFORMANCE WITH AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE

Irina Dvorovenko, a Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre since 2000, will give her final performance with the Company on May 18, 2013 at the Metropolitan Opera House in the role of Tatiana in Onegin. Dvorovenko will dance opposite Cory Stearns in the role of Eugene Onegin.
